In the lead-up, you’ll provide all the information your DJ needs using our Party Brief. Think of it as your online, easy-to-use music and planning HQ. It’s designed to capture all the details your DJ needs, from preferences to do-not-plays, run times and more.

Your Party Brief will continue to evolve, guiding you through key music choices and requests for each part of your wedding we’re booked for.

The Party Brief also includes links to helpful resources, such as sample playlists and detailed blogs, which are regularly updated so you’re getting the best possible suggestions and advice.

  • THE SOUNDTRACK is run by Eddy and Aleks - two seasoned wedding DJs who manage every aspect of your booking personally, and also hand-pick the talent. We’ve capitalised on our 20+ years working in weddings to create helpful resources for our couples and DJs alike, ensuring a smooth (and enjoyable) experience throughout.

  • We book all types of weddings – from intimate cocktail style affairs, to more formal sit down weddings – in Melbourne and around Victoria. If music is important to you, get in touch for your big day.

  • Each booking includes a set of professional DJ decks, speakers and a wireless microphone for speeches (covering one area).

    Additional sound equipment may be required for guest lists that exceed 150 pax and for additional areas requiring a DJ setup (such as a cocktail hour space separate from the main reception area).

  • Start by enquiring about a wedding DJ for your specific date via our Contact page. Once we receive your enquiry, we’ll be in touch with our availability and initial pricing. We’ll also book in a quick chat to hear more about your day and scope out your requirements.

    Following that, you’ll receive a formal quote, which can be locked in with a 50% part payment. Then, we’ll send through your Party Brief questionnaire. We’ll stay in touch along the way! Read more about our booking process.

  • When you enquire and advise us of your date, we’ll check which DJs are available and come back to you with options, depending on who’s going to be the best fit.

  • We encourage a phone call with your booked DJ the week of your event to run through things. Your DJ will get in touch with you via SMS to arrange a time.

  • Over the last several years, we’ve built an extensive network of wedding DJs in Victoria. Should the worst case scenario arise, and your DJ be unable to play at your wedding, the Party Brief questionnaire can easily be transferred to a replacement DJ. We’ll organise this for you.

  • Our DJs are happy to take requests from your guests, and will use their best judgement to determine whether they play them, save them for later or ask for other options more aligned with your music brief. Read more in this blog.

  • Yes! This is included in the Party Brief questionnaire, which is provided to your DJ. They can also take guest requests on the night.

  • Yes, some of our DJs can also look after tunes for your ceremony and cocktail hour. This will require additional equipment and time, which we can quote for. We’ll chat about your requirements in detail during our initial chat.
